Meet Chris Pace, Staff Accountant with Tompkins!
Chris is responsible for maintaining the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger, as well as related sub-systems. He also assists with the preparation of financial and regulatory reports.
We asked Chris some questions.
Why Tompkins as an employee?
Chris: Being part of a company our size in a small town that gives back as much as Tompkins does give you a feeling of pride to wear the acorn! Management, at all levels, not only guides you to better your career, they also acknowledge and recognize growth with positive reinforcement.
Why Tompkins as a community member?
Chris: It is hard to pinpoint just one reason why I love this community. But I realized that this was a place to call home when I did some traveling to other parts of the country; you realize just how beautiful central New York is along with how friendly people are. The rolling hills, lakes, waterfalls, wildlife, and parks are just some of examples of why I chose Tompkins. There is something for everyone in our “gorges” community all within a short drive.

I currently hold positions on the Tompkins/Cortland County Habitat for Humanity, and the Cortland Pubic Education Fund boards. Serving on these boards has allowed me to utilize some of my career skills, but more importantly give back to the community that raised me. In the summer you will find me on the golf course, the water, indoor/outdoor renovation projects, or in the woods getting ready for hunting season. Once October comes around I spend every free moment I have hunting and enjoying the natural beauty this states fall season has to offer. In the winter I enjoy skiing and watching my favorite Netflix shows!
