We're All In This Together

Hi, I’m Greg Hartz, President and CEO with Tompkins Trust Company.

Since 1836, Tompkins Trust Company has been serving our customers and our communities through periods of economic vitality, economic hardships, and everything in-between.

We are all aware that the Coronavirus has sent shock waves through our community, and the word and knowing how to navigate through these challenging times can be difficult. But we will get through this – together.

I want you to know Tompkins Trust Company is one of many organizations that are here for you and our community.  As an essential business, we remain open with proper precautions being taken to ensure the safety of our employees and customers.

Many Chambers of Commerce are providing guidance and resources; businesses are banding together to brainstorm ideas; and here at Tompkins, to assist current customers with unexpected financial burdens faced during these challenging times, we’ve implemented a temporary loan assistance program for our customers. This program offers 60 day loan payment deferment for all commercial loans and a 90 day loan payment deferment for all consumer loans. More information on this program can be found on our website, and you can also contact our Customer Care Center at 1-888-273-3210 for more information.

To further help you navigate these challenging times, we have also put together a few resources that contain great ideas/tips for your business:

Small Business Administration Guidance & Loan Resource

            Family First Coronavirus Response Act

            Resources for Working Remotely

Coronavirus Small Business Guide – US Chamber of Commerce

Some of our favorite tips for businesses are:

  1. Shift your sales strategy online where you can
  2. Encourage your followers to purchase gift cards to use at a later date
  3. Know your numbers better than you ever have. Work with your vendors, partners and local officials to help you plan for the long term

This crisis will end, but we will have work to do to rebuild our community and our businesses. And you can count on your Tompkins Trust Company family to be there with you helping to rebuild. For the most current information on the actions we’re taking, please visit our website: www.tompkinstrust.com/coronavirus-readiness

184 years is long time; and history has taught us that through the strength of community and unity, we can get through all forms of hardships.

You and the community are at the core of all we do, and we get through this, together.

Sincerely,

Greg Hartz
President & CEO
